What this series looks like
153,600,000 notes were printed in 1996–1997, exclusively for circulation in the Atlanta Federal Reserve district; from this series onward, all $2 notes were printed at the Western Currency Facility in Fort Worth, Texas (an "FW" prefix appears before the face plate number on the front). In late 1999, to mark the millennium, an additional batch of 9,999 special star notes was printed for each of the 12 Federal Reserve Banks.
